Principal's Message

Home of the mighty LIGERS!

My, how time flies!  We have returned from our wonderful holiday break and, hopefully, well refreshed to continue our learning.  Our mid-year assessments are taking place to gauge student learning.  We value every child at Don Jose Gallego and believe every child can succeed with your assistance.  As we continue the school year, stress the importance of good study habits and always trying their best.

In the 4th six weeks, we are continuing with teaching the objectives and having high expectations for success.  The state assessments for bilingual students, the TELPAS, will begin at this time.  We also observe Martin Luter King, Jr., President' Day,  and Dr. Seuss at the end of February.  We also acknowledge our wonderful counselor's next month.

One very important note: I ask you to be mindful of your child's attendance in school. By law, your child must attend school daily. When your child is absent, your child misses instruction and learning is lost. We want your child to be successful in achieving their goals, assessments, and daily activities. This will happen through a commitment to bringing your child to school daily.

We are here to ensure you child's success in school and in their future. If you need any assistance, kindly contact us.  2Gether We Will!

Yours truly,
Mrs. Lupita Cortez
